Improve data shared and user experience for users on Mandi News Fruits pages so that they revisit the Mandi News Fruits pages

Generate high-quality leads from existing Mandi News users for Ninja Fruits paid subscription

Brainstorming and creating flows

When the brief was given by the product manager, an initial brainstorming session was conducted to understand the ask. After a few catch up sessions, I came up with the user flows for this feature.

Research

Talking with the Mandi news users, we were able to figure out what is of more importance and what the users are looking forward when they use our app. Based on the information gathered, we came to the conclusion of what should be included in the subscription module

Wireframes

After rough sketching, I created wireframes and started with draft version of the design.


After 4-5 iterations we were able to decide upon the design which would showcase all the points we had kept in mind that would make the user experience of this feature good.

When the design was finalised for V1, an end to end prototype was created

Prototyping

An end to end end prototype was made and shared with the team before hitting the market to do a prototype testing.

Testing the Prototype in the market

With the working prototype ,me and the product manager hit the Huskur market(Bengaluru)to test it out and get insights that can be incorporated in our design. We informed the traders about the subscription plan and handed our end to end prototype to observe how they use it.

Insights

I didn’t find the scroll to be meaningful. Almost all the users scrolled mindlessly without focusing on the content.

1 out of 8 users actually checked out the filters,location, change category. Users didn’t pay attention to the filters 

They feel there will be on transparency even though we provide the number and media for them. They feel the connections they get through word of mouth will be more genuine. 

Two users were hesitant to even try

Asks how it is shown that these traders are genuine. Any identity for security/guarantee

Observed that one user was clicking on the prices to navigate 

Only 1 user went through both the flows.

Could not understand the term buyer and supply market

Found one user swiping on the images screen

One user suggested showing the quantity in kg would be more helpful

Prices based on the quality (isn’t that how we have it now?)

Only 1 user spoke about truck arrival info, says it is an important factor

Action items

Can limit the scrolling, because the popular forwarding mandi info, truck details and other info in the latter is not noticed.

The info in the card- would be ideal if the quantity is clear

Traders credibility can be included

Show variation in the card for buyer, supply market

Making the entire card clickable

Include kg next to prices within the card

Maybe we can move the truck related info into the second page to limit the scroll

Ninjacart-Mandi fruit subscription

Mandi news is a feature in Ninja Trader app where it provides mandi details which includes FnV available in the market, their prices, truck availability and more such details.

The user lands on the homepage after selecting the fruit. The homepage will have the list of source markets and the varieties that are available along with the type and average cost.
Followed by Truck information and other forwarding mandis for the fruits

Location Specific

Once the user selects the source market, a detailed view of the varieties along with the type , price range and trader info is shown. Along with that information, the truck arrival to that source market and top apple traders of that market are also shown

Trader details

When the user selects the type, the contact of the traders who sell those types are listed, if the clicks on the images provided by them, they can verify before buying. The users can connect with the traders directly by the provided contact number
